February is Black History Month. The theme for 2022 is: “February and Forever: Celebrating Black History today and every day,”. Together, let's learn about the rich and diverse heritage, traditions and culture of Black Canadians, as well as contributions being made in all spheres of society including health care, business, arts and culture.
The Government of Canada is hosting a virtual event on February 17 to highlight this year's theme with performances, tributes, interviews and more.
The City of Toronto has also scheduled a number of events and exhibits to recognize Black History Month. See the schedule here.
The Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI) is also offering CCDI’s educational guide on racism and anti-Black racism which contains resources for organizations to learn more about building more inclusive environments.
